Coconuts are very useful in RuneScape. Coconut Milk, used in making high level herblore weapon poison and anti-poison potions, is gained from coconuts. In addition, any RuneScape player who wishes to guarantee his 250k magic tree seed matures needs to pay 25 coconuts to the tree patch farmer.
Coconuts often are bought out due to high demand, merchanting clans, or both. RuneScape players who need to obtain coconut will have to look elsewhere if coconut cannot be bought on the grand exchange.
One source of coconuts in RuneScape is through farming. Level 68 in the farming skill is needed to grow a palm tree. A palm tree bears up to six coconuts, once picked a coconut respawns every 45 minutes. Each coconut tree produces a full crop of 6 coconuts every 4.5 hours, allowing over 100 a day should palm trees be grown in all five fruit tree patches.
Coconuts can also be obtained from looting Nature Implings. Most easily found in Impetuous Impulses, level 58 hunter is needed to catch nature implings. Nature impling jars can be purchased on the grand exchange. Hunter level is not required to loot; but as coconut is one of many types of loot this works when only one or two are sought.
RuneScape players with level 69 summoning can summon a fruit bat. Fruit bat will forage for fruit and seeds, including coconut. Fruit bats seem to forage only while not casting fruit fall; flying the bat to gather fruit in Karamja will not produce coconuts nor will casting fruit fall.
